Arolos Charries [March 30, 2008 @ 9:52pm]
[ mood | tired ]
[ music | Nada - watching She's the Man ]

So,  it's been a long time since I've been on this thing. Pity, since I  did pay for it. A lot of what'll be on this journal now is Pern play, which came long (LONG) before Supernatural fanfic. Anywho, life's been fairly uneventful in these past...five, six months. I hope all of you are doing very well! Now. a quick run-down of the charries as I play them currently, just to kick off this random blogging pof the randomness at Arolos Weyr:

Stuntman v. Stuntman [September 18, 2007 @ 11:50pm]
[ mood | ecstatic ]
[ music | Menu music from Death Proof ]

Icon? Nah, I'm not mad. It goes with "The Girls" attitudes on the movie I just finished.

Ya know, I always adored Challangers. They were right up there with Chargers, Impalas, Camaros, Firebirds, and Mustangs. And... okay, so I realize that's not really a small list of cars. Both the classic and the new concept. And I think Death Proof just cemented it as a full-blown crush. Yep. On a car. Also, this is the only white car I've seen and liked. Aha. Awww. I want a classic so bad all over again.

Sooo, I shall be buying this movie. I'm so sad now that I fell asleep durring it when we were at that drive-in, Nicole!! Grindhouse is just... the ultimate drive-in type modern double feature.

Also cool? Zoe Bell. (SORTA SPOILERS:)The whole actually doing her own stunts is awesome. And not in a "she fell down all by herself!" way, but in the most awesome "she's actually a stuntman" way. So the whole bit with her riding the door of the car, riding the hood of the car, and having it in real motion instead of just on a green screen is... the best. Ever. I'm really excited, lmao.

Ahahaha. Now. Gonne go buy some Grindhouse music from iTunes. For some reason I like Tarantino's weird-assed tastes.

I can 't sleep. So.

TO DO LISTING:

Plot new Arolos character. Because I just had an adoptable approved, and for some reason I need to adopt or create another one. And Anakessa's still being reviewed. Feels like old times. *rolls eyes*

Flesh out some sort of plot for Fenelox.

Finish chapter (What? Eleven? Kate? I'm too lazy to look.) of Couple's Therapy. Ah, crap. That means I need to read that Buffy transcript.

Update Too Much Information. Because Nicole refuses to.

Clean the following:
~ Parent's room - tidy, vacuum.
~ My room - tidy/redecorate in typical psychotic fashion, vacuum, clean bird cage, clean fish tank.
~ Laundry - fold, wash new load, then wash bedding.
~ Trash.
~ God, I can't even remember what else.
~ Ahah, I have to scrub the litter boxes.
~ And clean the doggy poo out of the back yard.

My house has a LOT of animals. Seven cats, three dogs, my two finsches, and my fish. And I have all day tomorrow to scrub and sanitize everything. Woohoo!

And lastly:

Spam Arolos lists. Because they don't have a c-box for me to spam.

Hopefully post like crazy. *pokes posters* Not that you guys read muy LJ.

YAY! Wasn't that the most interesting thing ever?

[ music | The Masterharper of Pern CD (haha, I own it and you don't!) ]

Okay, so. I started fanfiction writing, as mentioned in my profile, through Anne McCeffrey's The Dragonriders of Pern series. My very first [successful, non-dying] RPG was a Play By eMail group called Arolos Weyr, quite modest in size but with an amazing group of writers who just would not let the Weyr die. And earlier this week I picked up Dragonflight, book one of the series. And now I've fallen back into love with the fascinating world.

Alas, I had to quite Arolos years (what, five? six?) ago due to a: moving, and b: the massive growth of the group. Presently there are 600 members in the Yahoo! Groups Arolos Weyr main group, and there are several other groups that form a network (Arolos Crafters, Holders, Weyrlings, porn, OOC discussions, and news-all of these and more have groups). After being away so long, there are some regrets.

1: I was a BOD (board of directors) member. Alas, no more. And half of the BOD that I knew and had random psycho-babble IM conversations with are still there after SO long!
2: I didn't get to see the Weyr grow like a loveable tumor.
3: My old characters are no longer in existence (though I do get to create more now).
4: My ranking characters are among those explained away into nothingness post-departure from the group. No more Candidate Master for me. Ah, well.

And I do believe that I will have my hands full once/if my new character is approved. Arolos boasts 3,000-6,000 posts per month, and that's just the main list. Also, there be Supernatural tales to tell.

Yeah, you can tell I'm reading Pern again by my writing. Though it is much improved since my High School freshman-sophmore days.

Okay, I was just shouting my happies to you all. If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, pick up the books!! NOW! Best "fantasy"/sci-fi ever. Promise.

Hey , all!! I finally have a laptop of my very own! There's really nothing else to say. Well, I could complain about the updates that come with having a new computer, but I've bitched about that to Kate and Nicole already. And the happy I HAVE A NEW LAPTOP thing outweighs the update horror.

But uploading all my CD's does suck butt. *stares blankly at dozens of CD's* I'm gonna have to buy more memory.

Anywho, this is the laptop. Yay! Yay! Biggest thing ever? No. Nor the most powerful. But it's mine and I love it.

Too Much Information (PG-13) Chapter 3 [August 17, 2007 @ 11:33am]
[ mood | busy ]
[ music | Nada - Still listening to the menu loop. ]

God, sorry all. Well, the few of you that have been following here. Most of you follow on R66, yes? But this really needed to be posted here.

Title: Too Much Information
Author: Aimée
Status: Mucho Incomplete-o
Rating: PG-13 for now. Just you wait. Muahaha. It’ll be all with the violence. But there's a lot of fluff, too. Mostly fluff at this point.
Characters: Yes, there are quite a few in here. Look into their minds. Mainly Sam, Faith, Buffy, and Dean.
Timeline: Buffy Universe: Season Five (and I haven’t seen all of that season, so if I mess up anywhere please tell me so I can revise!!)
Supernatural Universe: After 2.6, before 2.9. Ahem. After Jo’s foray into hunting and before Sam’s immunity to the demon-y plague thing.
Synopsis: The Scooby gang, bar crew, and Sammy narrate while Dean and Buffy make with the love bunnies and the killing. Sam has plans for Sunnydale. Too bad Faith is distracting him from his work.
Disclaimer: I don’t own either series. If I did I’d waste sooo much of the CW studio’s money trying to coerce Sarah Michelle Gellar into a steady role on Supernatural. I mean… she’s really gotten into a horror kick, right? She belongs on the show! Hell, so do I! I want to be that sad little PA that they send out to try and find the guys and drag them back to work when they run off. Anyway, point: I gain nothing from this. No money, no nookie.

If there's a link for the chapter, it's been posted. Will update regularly!

Death of a Slayer

Note: I will NOT be updating The Id until I fix the suckieness. Which will take a long time, since the chapters blow. That's why people just shouldn't re-read their own fanfic, it's disheartening, lol. But I do want to continue both of the above ASAP. Just... which one first?

[ music | Nada - Watching Life as a House ]

I am back from my vacation! Great road trip. Meteor Crater (guess what that is), Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, and the Very Large Array in New Mexico. For those of you who don't recognize the VLA, it's the field of telescopes from the film Contact. Which I must say is incredibly entertaining when you're holiday companions are both Aerospace Engineers from VaTech.

I just installed Firefox, which is very nifty. And presents me with a new challenge: altering my page here to match the browser. As beautiful as the banner is, it's just not supposed to cover the LJ toolbar.

With any hope I shall be writing something again soon *pokes Nicole innocently* but my days have been mostly taken up with TV and movies. I did remember to set my DVD timer to record the rerun of Supernatural's finale. Watched it today. Then finished season one of Lost. Sooo. I've been crying all day, it's been emotional (you guys know, if the show is brilliant then you do get invested in the characters). And since I got a huge shipment of movies in today, my break from all of the drama is Life as a House. Yeah. Not much of a break. But the DVDs I recieved are all psychological mind-fuck types or very dramatic. I'm just not up to watching Pi at the moment, I finally managed to get through Requiem for a Dream a few days ago at the hotel with Laura and Jules. Besides. Boone is hale and whole (and somewhat whorish) in Life as a House. Yay for Boone. Ian in general, really.

So I shall be seeing you all online shortly. After this it's either scary psych movie (hurm, The Machinist just came in... never seen it) or on to season two of Lost so I can return them. Damned borrowed seasons. I need to save and just buy them.

Anyway. Sorry for jamming up your pages!! *waves* Back to Punk!Hayden. Every bit as entertaining to look at as Punk!Jensen. Just... weird. lol

[ music | Nada - Watching The Mummy Returns. ]

Hello, all! It's been a hectic month of little to no communication. Work's been busy (what with me working on my days off and all), and now that I have time to breathe I find myself on the Internet planning a road trip from home here in Southern AZ to Meteor Crater, the Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert, and then over to the Very Large Array in NM (the field of satellite dishes from Contact).

And tonight I have a movie to go to. Yay Rocky Horror! Gives me a good reason to pull out the corset and flinch while someone straps me into it. Gah, at least it isn't whale bone. But it should be fun!

Nicole, I am ready to return the DVD's, lol. I haven't finished VM, but at this point I'm not sure when I will be able to. Buffy, though? SAD! Sad ending. Poo. Poor Spike. Yay for being brought back (further evidence that my theory that DragonBall Z and Buffy are both basically the same show is correct).

And Kate! I haven't spoken to you in FOREVER!! :( I miss you. I'll have to get the viruses and the worm cleared out of my 'puter so I can get online more often and catch up on things.

Until I do (ah, external hard drive would be nice), I'll be seeing you all!! **hugs**

Subway needs kilt-wearing sub shop type dudes.

This whole thing is personal babble and hidden behind a cut. People who know me, read and marvel at the self-involvement. People who don't? Well. Who would care to read the rambling of someone whom you know nothing about?

Seriously. I'm not that interesting, I'm just writing down the latest developments for the people who care (or don't). lol

Oh wow. Update's long comin' here, isn't it?

I think there are fifteen grammatical errors with the above statement.

Anyway, I'll be posting here soon. I have to tell you all about the wonders of working at a gym. Basically? EASY! I mean, if you're the girl it's easy. When it's time to put weights away at the end of the night you grab the light ones and when you catch sight of the 55 pound dumbells that some dickwad left out (they're apparently heavy enought to lift but too heavy to put away) you just pout a little, heave a great sigh, and wait for the soldiers to help you out.

Which is wrong. Manipulation is wrong.

Hey, I didn't start it. But I appreciate their help. I have no clue how long it would take me to roll a 96 pound weight to a different room. And dumbells come in twos.

Gah. Gotta go to bed. LONG day tomorrow. Including a workout, fourteen hour workday, and then helping someone move the next day.

VaTech. Need I say more? [April 16, 2007 @ 8:32pm]
[ mood | anxious ]
[ music | Nada. ]

Okay, well, I'm sure you've all heard of VaTech's shooting rampage. Gotta say, not a comforting way to start a day. I was late for work, caught the sight or sirens and a scroll along the bottom of the TV screen in which the words "VaTech" and "shooting" popped out. Vividly.

So, I was late to work. I had to call my best friend from High School who maintains something like a 4.2 GPA there and check up on her. For once, she picked up her phone. And she is fine.

I have no clue how many of my high school friends or aquaintances actually go there, so I'm still a little weirded out about who may or may not be hurt. Or worse, never make it to reunion.

I mean, come on. We (NoVa residents-MVHS) all went through 9/11 with the plane crashing into the Pentagon already-most of the parentals were fine, none died (at least none with students attenting Mount Vernon HS). Then there was the Sniper (ranging from SoMaryland to NoVirginia-the DC area). He managed to completely shut down football season for all of the schools seen in Remember the Titans. All of our rival schools and ours nixed the football season. And it doesn't seem fair that so many of those students have this new horror to deal with.

So if you are from the area, I hope that you and yours are fine. Safe and whole. Those who died will be missed, and hopefully those hospitalized will be discharged safely.

Just thought I'd share.
